On l’aurait inventée en 1630, après avoir survécu à une épidémie, à Saint Calais en Sarthe où depuis chaque année on fête la poche ou le chausson aux pommes au mois de septembre.

It is said to have been invented in 1630, after surviving an epidemic, in Saint Calais in the Sarthe department (F) where every year since then the apple pocket or turnover has been celebrated in September.
