The Fouerfësch: a taste of celebration in the heart of Luxembourg

In Luxembourg, the end of summer has a very special flavour: that of the Schueberfouer. From 21 August to 7 September, the Champ du Glacis is transformed into a huge festival site where lights, fairground rides, music, delicacies and folk traditions come together.

Among the classic dishes served at this unmissable festival is Fouerfësch, the famous Luxembourg-style fried fish. It is a hearty, convivial and comforting dish that immediately brings to mind the lively evenings at the Fouer and that unique atmosphere which the people of Luxembourg love to experience every year.

This year, Komptoir K’ is bringing a touch of the funfair to the very heart of the city and putting a delicious new spin on this timeless classic.

The chef has selected a fine fillet of haddock, delicately coated in a beer batter before being deep-fried to achieve a particularly crispy texture on the outside and tender, flaky flesh on the inside.

The fish is served with generous portions of golden chips, along with a fresh, slightly spicy homemade rémoulade sauce, which adds the perfect touch of freshness to this hearty dish.

A dish that’s all about sharing and conviviality, to be enjoyed without fuss, in the cheerful, down-to-earth spirit of the Schueberfouer.

To make the experience even more memorable, a 100 per cent Luxembourg-style treat is a must.
