When the bees make their honey in Niederanven
Un miel luxembourgeois, né du quotidien chez Kaempff-Kohler
Sometimes all it takes is to look up to discover a beautiful story.
Did you know that the roof of our building in Niederanven is home to some beehives? Thousands of tiny worker bees forage amongst the flowers and trees in their surroundings throughout the seasons to create a product as simple as it is exceptional: a genuine Luxembourgish honey.
Behind this production are Germain Becker and his wife Laurence, beekeepers who partner with Kaempff-Kohler. This unusual couple of beekeepers were not destined for beekeeping, as they had previously worked in the medical sector. Their expertise and passion are what give rise to the honeys we find in our shops today.
The geographical proximity of the hives also creates a special connection between the producer, the product and the place where it is sold.
Honey is never quite the same. Its character changes depending on the flowers in bloom, the season and the vegetation the bees encounter whilst foraging.
At Kaempff-Kohler, the harvests include, in particular, spring honey, summer honey and wildflower honey. We offer it plain, with ginger or with turmeric.
Kaempff-Kohler shares a common goal with the Becker family: to promote authentic, local and meaningful products.
