In our cheese shop, May is the month of Verdori, a Swiss raw cow’s milk cheese from the Appenzell region, and Viognier Mujolan, a wine from the Hérault region.
Verdori is a cheese typical of the season. Vibrant in color, it impresses with its spring freshness.
It derives its special touch from its coating of sun-dried tomatoes, cashew nuts, and wild garlic, which provide sublime and exhilarating flavors. This interplay of aromas and its visual appeal promise a unique taste experience.
Its maturation period is a minimum of 70 days.
To accompany this festival of spring colors and aromas, Sonia, our cheesemonger, has chosen a Viognier from the Hérault region:
The Mujolan, Collines de la Moure, 2018 vintage, bottled at the estate of the Boutonnet family, owner-harvesters in Fabrègues in the Languedoc Roussillon region.
This white wine presents the typical attributes of Viognier, namely fruity notes (white peach and apricot) and floral (acacia) on the nose, with a smooth attack and beautiful minerality on the palate that harmonize very well with the wild garlic, sun-dried tomato, and cashew of the cheese.
The cheese and wine pairing for the month of May, available at the Kaempff-Kohler cheese shop in the city center.

In our cheese shop, May is the month of Verdori, a Swiss cheese made from raw cow’s milk from the Appenzell region, and Viognier Mujolan, a white wine from the Hérault region in southern France.
Verdori is a cheese that perfectly captures the spirit of the season. Vibrant and full of character, it charms with its fresh, spring-like qualities.
Its distinctive touch comes from its coating of sun-dried tomatoes, cashew nuts, and wild garlic, which lend it sublime and exhilarating flavors. This interplay of aromas and its colorful appearance promise a unique tasting experience.
It undergoes a minimum maturation period of 70 days.
To complement this festival of springtime colors and aromas, Sonia, our cheesemonger, has selected a Viognier from the Hérault region:
Mujolan, Collines de la Moure, vintage 2018, bottled at the Boutonnet family estate, who are both owners and winemakers in Fabrègues, Languedoc-Roussillon.
This white wine displays the typical attributes of Viognier, with fruity (white peach and apricot) and floral (acacia) notes on the nose, followed by a soft attack and lovely minerality on the palate. These qualities pair beautifully with the wild garlic, sun-dried tomato, and cashew notes in the cheese.
