Bordier: a tradition of butter-making and gastronomic excellence
Butter is one of those foods that we eat every day without always realising just how rich a taste experience it can offer.
Bordier butter, produced by the eponymous company based in Saint-Malo, is an exceptional French artisanal product that delights the taste buds with its delicacy and character.
At the Bordier workshops, master butter-makers carry on a time-honoured tradition. Butter is kneaded and shaped by hand using a wooden rolling pin, following a traditional method that gives it an unrivalled texture.
The churning process, which is deliberately lengthy, takes several hours to allow the flavours to develop naturally and to bring out the product’s full character. After being washed in cool water, the butter is seasoned with fine salt or coarse salt, depending on the recipe.
Bordier butter is made from traditional cream sourced from partner farms in Brittany and Normandy, selected for the quality of their milk.
A benchmark in haute cuisine, it is now highly acclaimed by the world’s leading chefs and pastry chefs.
Excellence, authenticity, tradition and craftsmanship: these are the qualities that make Bordier butter a must-try, available at the Kaempff-Kohler cheese shop.
