Cheese and Wine Pairing of the Month
When Switzerland Meets Luxembourg

In June, the Fromagerie Cave à Vins Kaempff-Kohler showcases a refined pairing between an exceptional Swiss cheese and a characterful Luxembourg wine.

The Lavandula, created by renowned Swiss cheesemaker Kevin Koch, is a raw cow’s milk cheese from the Appenzell region. Aged for at least 70 days, this cheese features a supple, dense, and melt-in-the-mouth texture, coated in a blend of Provence lavender and thyme.

The delicate notes of lavender and thyme, intertwined with the creamy richness of raw milk, give this exceptional cheese a decidedly summery character.

The Lavandula is part of the Haute-Couleur collection and is ideally suited to a tasting platter or an original aperitif.

To accompany it, Pinot Gris from the Luxembourg Moselle is a perfect pairing.

This very popular grape variety produces structured and generous white wines, characterized by a golden yellow robe with brilliant highlights. On the nose, it expresses aromas of ripe fruits (pear, quince, apricot), honey, dried fruits, and subtle smoky notes. On the palate, Luxembourg cuvées offer a harmonious balance between richness, creamy roundness, and subtle mineral freshness.

A delicious and harmonious pairing to discover at the Fromagerie Cave à Vins Kaempff-Kohler.
