Butternut squash, also known as butternut or Doubeurre squash, originates from Central America, but can also be found in our gardens.
It is a late variety, harvested from September to October, but can be stored for some time.
This starchy vegetable, which belongs to the cucurbit family (pumpkins, zucchinis, squashes…), has the shape of an elongated pear. Its flesh is orange, its skin is rather beige and hard, although not very thick.
Butternut is rich in vitamins, minerals, and fibers, which are essential for maintaining good health.
In our velouté, you’ll enjoy its comforting taste and nutty flavors, perfect to enhance your winter meal.
Available in Weck jars in our stores and on our Click & Collect e-shop!
