In Luxembourg, St Nicholas, Kleeschen, is a very important celebration, especially for children. On that day, not only are primary schools closed, but children also receive treats and gifts.
Even days before, they put their slippers in front of the door and leave a carrot for Kleeschen’s donkey, hoping to find a little treat in exchange for their good behaviour.
